Fees and Expenses

The Miss Magna Pageant is a local pageant that participates in the Miss America Pageant Franchise.  As a member of the Miss America System our winner has the opportunity to compete in the Miss Utah competition, and eventually Miss America. If you elect to go on to Miss Utah, pending minor changes year to year, these are the approximate fees to participate:
1. Miss Utah Pageant fees        
    Miss Utah Week Hotel Fee: $100
      Miss Utah Tribute Page: $300
      Miss Utah Production Outfit: $100
      Miss Utah Week Video $125
      Total $525
2. Wardrobe and photos
3. $250 CMN fundraising


It is expensive but totally worth it.  Local pageants have differing budgets, so be aware that in the event you win our local title, you will need to pay the Miss Utah pageant fees and expenses.  If you need us to get you in contact with former title holders from Magna we can, so you can get an idea of how they worked out their finances.  

You as the Queen will need to have the pageant fees ready by March of 2013.  If a Little Miss wants to come with you, there is a $400 fee and the little miss will need to have had some dance experience.  There are parents who contact the Miss Utah competition asking to pay and have their little girl participate, so Miss Utah can arrange to have a Little Miss for you.

There are other fees to participate.  The Magna pageant committees portion is the Miss America Franchise fee and crown which gives you the opportunity to go on to Miss Utah if you so choose.  We also pay your scholarship.  When you win at this local level you will need to schedule a meeting with our pageant committee so we can discuss with you, and help you put in place, plans for fundraising for your Miss Utah expenses.  You are not on your own in this, but are simply in the driver's seat and we will help you in whatever way you need.   

Preparing For and Competing at Miss Utah
You will find that the Miss Utah competition is an amazing experience, and can be extremely intense. You will not want to show up unprepared.  We can help you find coaches so you will be more than ready.

Award of Scholarship
Understand that your scholarship is contingent upon your job performance as queen for your year.  We write the check out to your institution of choice.  Iif we can’t contact you, or you fail to attend scheduled community appearances, our organization reserves the right to not award your scholarship, or pay it in full, at the end of your year.  Your scholarship from our organization does not depend upon participation at Miss Utah.  

We understand that as a dynamic young woman you will be busy with your education, talents, social functions, and might be working full-time.  We have been there, and understand that you are juggling many different activities and responsibilities at this key time in your life.  We will make every effort to support you in these.  
We also ask that you be understanding and supportive of your pageant committee at all levels of the Miss America system.  

We have had a wonderful experience with our former royalty and look forward to having more amazing young women represent Magna.
